What is Industrial Effluent Disposal?

The term ‘effluent’ refers to an outflowing of water or gas to a natural body of water. In this context, it refers to that of a wastewater treatment plant, sewer pipe, or industrial outfall. Water relating to industrial wastewater may include both treated or untreated wastewater. Wastewater is an undesirable by-product in various industries, and most industries produce some wastewater, despite attempts to reduce the production of wastewater, or to recycle treated wastewater within the production process.
